Make sure to look through the "EMU Black Migration Guide to V3 Software" available on the downloads page.

In order to update your EMU to V3 on a vehicle that has been previously tuned, you will want to connect with the latest "V2" software version and save your current project file. (*.emub)

You can then download and open the latest V3 software with the EMU connected. Make sure the EMU and your laptop stay connected to a stable power source and not to remove the USB, as updating can take a minute or two.

Finally you can use the V2 project import feature in the V3 software under the "File" dropdown menu. You can import any of our V2 startup base maps or your previous V2 project file using this feature. A popup will provide you with information on what was able to be imported. Make sure to take note of what is not imported. As always, make sure to "Make Permanent" after any changes have been made. It is also recommended to save the new V3 project file. (*.emub3)

The software is a full rework compared to V2 so some of the strategies are not possible to be imported over directly and will require tuning.

The "EMU Black Migration Guide to V3 Software" on the downloads page is much more comprehensive and contains more details about many features added or modified in V3.
