Download and install the most up to date EMU Black Client software package (Any version later than 2.113 will have this feature) and flash the EMU to the newest software. Make sure the laptop battery and vehicle battery are charged and the laptop does not get disconnected from the EMU while it is flashing. This will cause the EMU to no longer function. If you are on V2 make sure to select the latest V2 software, or follow the guide to update to V3. You can select which version of V2 or V3 you want to use under "File" "Upgrade Firmware" and select the version from the list.

If you already have a software version newer than 2.113, you need to make sure you have throttle position assigned in the software. (In V2 DBW->Parameters->Pos. sensor input. Or in V3 Sensors->TPS,PPS->TPS->Main signal input)

Then go to the "DBW Calibration tool" under "Tools" and run the tool.

It will go through a series of testing and the TB will make noise. Allow a few minutes to complete then Exit the calibration tool. Remember to "Make Permanent" (or F2 key) to flash those changes to the EMU, and "Save Project File" before turning off the key. The default save location for files is Documents/EMU Black/ and in the folder named your EMU serial number.

You will also need to make sure to calibrate your throttle pedal.

In V2 this is under Sensor setup-> TPS.

In V3 this is under Sensors->TPS,PPS->PPS.

Set your min and max voltages based on values seen in Log->Analog inputs->TPS. (in V3 it can be TPS or any analog input.)

Set your "min voltage" a tiny bit above the voltage that is shown when you are not pressing the throttle, and set your "max voltage" a tiny bit below what it shows when your foot is all the way to the floor.

The DBW Characteristics#1 table does not get changed by the DBW calibration tool. This table tells the EMU how much to open the throttle plate vs the pedal position for drivability. If this table is all "0" (zeros), then the throttle plate does not open when the pedal is pressed.
